I tried viewing a DVS broadcast with Smartersplayer on iPhone and used catch-up to watch “The Asphalt Jungle” which provides more details about which exact audio track has this DVS embedded directly into it: it says audio track #2, Whereas BuzzTV v5.0.919 on a 4500 says it’s directly embedded into track #1 only.

I don’t think disabling audio: DTS, Dolby surround sound or SAP or text-to-speech or flipping language supports will help due to its hard embedded singular track nature.

Did not try VLC on a laptop as you suggested which probably means what ever you were watching did NOT have any DVS natively embedded into it from the source, so I doubt using VLC will help.

But it’s been suggested that if it’s hard embedded into a singular audio track then it can NEVER be filtered out or disabled, which is very important to know moving forward.

Can your server filter out these DVS singular audio track LIVE only channels from our service and thus not appear in the guide?

I believe DVS is offered as a free national service for visually impaired but I’m seeing it affecting mostly live TV news broadcasts and now its migrated over to the premium channels like: TCM and others and more by the day.

its being looked into its coming directly from the main source scripts i believe changeling it to aac will fix issue but means re writing scripts witch may take some time and patience

please feel free to create a list of any channels you see the issue on and pm it to me

more eyes and ears is nice as i cant manage to watch every channel to look for issues

From my experience in audio, unselecting SAP (Second Audio Programming) would disable DVS if that particular channel was transmitting the DVS signal. This goes back to helping the blind listen to a second channel which would narrate story telling. However most of my experience related to SAP having embedded different language broadcasting.
So, try to disable SAP on the streaming box as long as the decoder in the streamers are configured properly.
I did not see any SAP settings on my U5s, you could try Tunneled Playback as a test for AV sync issues,but prob.won't affect it.

Many Canadian channels are down (beach screen). (example: BBC Earth, CBC Montreal, Crime investigation, LCN, Global Montreal, FX, FXX, FOOD network, Makeful, ...)

I made couple changes to series server;s
can someone test load times that use's it a fair bit and tell me if its loading faster for you now

went to my favourites and it took about 4 seconds to start an episode

Loaded up a few and they look to be a bit quicker. Still having issues with Blue Heeler series. Little buffering and voice out of sync but that has been going on for 4 nights now..
Did a few of the NCIS and they loaded pretty quick and worked well.

Audio Codec eac3 i have audio on smarters and on vlc maybe try change player setting
alot of these channels coming from our own scripts direct and no way to change Audio Codec at this time
