NBC sports bay area (channel 202) is freezing for about 30 seconds to a minute every 5 or 10 minutes, it will recover but do it again, this during the game, this happend for about 6 or so times in the last half hour.

Still nothing here. Press play it freezes on first image. Can fast forward. But it juts freezes on whatever image is at that point. So it won’t play at all… hmmmmmm now I dunno what to say. **** lol

What do you mean by "tried changing file types" ?
Watched a movie earlier today had no issue. Wife started another movie about 20 minutes ago, and so far no hiccups (I would have surely heard about it).
Sure it's not your network ? Hardwired or WiFi ? Tried rebooting your router ?
ISP throttling maybe ? Did you try enabling a VPN, just in case ?
Would probably help to specify what movie you are referring to. Maybe it is the specific movie that has an issue.

How often does it freeze ? Zookeepers wife, first 5 minutes in, and so far no freeze on my X5.

Don't think stream type makes a difference on VOD (it is a direct stream of an mp4 file - at least for the zookeepers wife.).
9 minutes into the movie and still smooth.
I'm at 10:21 and past elephant birth, and still perfectly smooth.
