You nailed it :)

Just plugged in the X5 again, and all EPG started loading up.
Cleared EPG (to make sure), and then watched all repopulate nice and quick.

And best part, now on the X5, I get nearly 14 days of EPG -7/+7 (and the -7 is not from cached info).
Perfect for catchup :)

I noticed only on most of the TCM: Turner Classic Movie channels (except TCM west and TCM.CA feeds) there is some sort of enhanced dramatic audio cues or verbal background dramatic cues such as: “ Emmerick glances causally” etc etc

Is this some sort of unique accessibility or is it an audio related setting in my BuzzTV 4700 or is it an upgraded audio setting from the stream that uniquely affects only this TCM channel, or that 6th audio channel somebody mentioned was recently added to more channels seems coincidental?

This supplemental audio channel effect is obviously annoying making the channel virtually unwatchable.

Is there a way to disable that 6th channel or audio effect on a BuzzTV box?

Anybody else have this issue?

Running latest BuzzTV 5.0.919 software.

sounds like descriptive video which is from source
and no such box as a 4700...lol

ac3 buzz should be able to handle that audio format

ill have to check on a buzz when i get home no issues on my laptop in vlc

I didn’t check it with VLC, but only the primary and secondary player, I didn’t think of it at the time.

I was watching “The Asphalt Jungle” on TCM today, so that’s a good movie to test it with using “catchup”, because that movie for sure had it and a few others last few days.

I’m thinking it’s a bug in the BuzzTV 5.0919 updated which was streamed to my 4500 box on 2/9/24 or about a week ago and that’s about the time I started noticing it.

if it comes from source there's no setting that will stop it

I tried viewing a DVS broadcast with Smartersplayer on iPhone and used catch-up to watch “The Asphalt Jungle” which provides more details about which exact audio track has this DVS embedded directly into it: it says audio track #2, Whereas BuzzTV v5.0.919 on a 4500 says it’s directly embedded into track #1 only.

I don’t think disabling audio: DTS, Dolby surround sound or SAP or text-to-speech or flipping language supports will help due to its hard embedded singular track nature.

Did not try VLC on a laptop as you suggested which probably means what ever you were watching did NOT have any DVS natively embedded into it from the source, so I doubt using VLC will help.

But it’s been suggested that if it’s hard embedded into a singular audio track then it can NEVER be filtered out or disabled, which is very important to know moving forward.

its being looked into its coming directly from the main source scripts i believe changeling it to aac will fix issue but means re writing scripts witch may take some time and patience

please feel free to create a list of any channels you see the issue on and pm it to me

more eyes and ears is nice as i cant manage to watch every channel to look for issues

From my experience in audio, unselecting SAP (Second Audio Programming) would disable DVS if that particular channel was transmitting the DVS signal. This goes back to helping the blind listen to a second channel which would narrate story telling. However most of my experience related to SAP having embedded different language broadcasting.
So, try to disable SAP on the streaming box as long as the decoder in the streamers are configured properly.
I did not see any SAP settings on my U5s, you could try Tunneled Playback as a test for AV sync issues,but prob.won't affect it.

Will check my older streamers

Getting lots of reports of buffering on several tv series and movies. E.g. masters of the air, oak island, land of bad, migration
users on us vpn(tried off and on cdn)

I made couple changes to series server;s
can someone test load times that use's it a fair bit and tell me if its loading faster for you now

went to my favourites and it took about 4 seconds to start an episode

Loaded up a few and they look to be a bit quicker. Still having issues with Blue Heeler series. Little buffering and voice out of sync but that has been going on for 4 nights now..
Did a few of the NCIS and they loaded pretty quick and worked well.

Audio Codec eac3 i have audio on smarters and on vlc maybe try change player setting
alot of these channels coming from our own scripts direct and no way to change Audio Codec at this time

Thanks Sat for all you dedication !

Question concerning lots of US Channels now locked to 5.1 Surround/ no longer stereo. Prior to the new Server replaced these channels were set to stereo. The 5.1 Surround is causing audio to blare full blast, try to turn down with Buzz remote, message comes up to use remote that controls amp.
This is trouble because the Buzz 250 learning remote works on IR and we are using Bose Sound Bar that uses bluetooth remote.
Can not program the Buzz remote to control the Bose, so now the choice is to set the U5 to Force max Volume, then have to use 2 remotes all the time. would not be too bad if each most channels were adjusted to the same db levels but some are low some are loud creating picking up 2 remotes constantly.
Is there a way to add another audio setting/ Disable/ 5.1 Surround/Stereo ?

I have my remote paired to my sound and no issues
that's why the remote has 2 sets of volume
I only use one remote for sound and everything else

The BOSE units need Bluetooth control not Infared so the other buttons on the remote are used for IR control of another device, not a bluetooth control. The Buzz250 remote will pair with the streamer box with bluetooth, however, the same remote can not control 2 different bluetooth devices at the same time. So I am back to square one again.
I am going to send Bose technical this question apparently some IR remotes that program with codes can control their sound bars.
