I have a Dish500 w/DP Dual LNB (119/110) and have one receiver and now adding a second one. I would prefer not having another cable from my backyard to he 2nd story, thus, can I use a Separator (such as the DP Plus 123254 that was used in an old DishPVR 921, dual tuner) to separate the incoming line into 2 for the receivers? Thanks!

The DPP seperator only ever worked on the SV elite at one time but it won't work as a splitter. You'll need to run another cable, sorry.

No, you can't use any kind of splitter or separator to feed two independent receivers. The separator will only work with dual tuner receivers.

Thanks for the quick responses! I'll just have to ante up and route a 2nd cable.

If you don't won't to watch both at the same time: You could use an A B switch , Not a good idea though. I do it sometimes for testing other receivers.

hawk2 -- as a backup plan, any recommendations of an A/B switch for sat cable? What do you use? Thanks!

Radio shack will carry them, a simple A-B switch

The Rat Shak A/B switch is only good to about 900 MHz, it will seriously cut down on your systems performance, if you can find one that will work out to 2.5 GHz then try it.

It also would be safer to shut off the receivers when you switch them.

It's better to run the second coax.
