I am still wanting to set op another router in my house as my netgear I believe is overloaded?
I have a new pad and I cannot get it to connect to the netgear router.
The Netgear router is set on static IP for the purpose of a NF HD box.
I cannot change that or I will not have the NF connection.
So is it possible to use a router on the end of one of my Powerlines, that powers another PC, into a Linksys, or XFTA ( I have either) and then a cat cable to that PC instead of the powerline, and set the router there as an extra router?
How could I do this so I can have extra access points?
And could the extra router be set as DCHP not static as the first router is?
Its easier to hook up with DCHP as it does it automatically.
Thanks

Say what? Ok, to connect to your router with the static address, you will have to give your Pad a static address. The DHCP function assigns IP addresses automatically to your device, ie pad. Do not give the pad the same address as your router. If I were you, set the static IP router aside. Hook the Linksys router up, hook all your devices up to the linksys, with DHCP enabled. Then run a line from your netgear static router to one port on your linksys. Just make sure your static address on the netgear does not match up to any of the addresses the liksys hands out. That the way I have mine setup. I have one cable at my PS3 and my CNX nano, so instead of using the PS3 built in wifi, I set a static IP on the router run a cable to my other router, default gateway is going to be the address of your linksys, subnet mask should be 255.255.255.0, you can set DNS servers to Open DNS, on both. Plug the NF into the router, make sure all your stuff is configured correctly. Have fun, use google post back, pm me, good luck. Again, have fun.

Thanks, I finally got the pad set up with the static IP and later wife comes in with another pad, yep set that one up with another key the Netgear had generated,
Only 4 keys does it generate and using all of them now.
The NF is on a powerline, as is my wife's PC and a Nano. the Nano is in another building that is why the powerline, ( trouble going thru the breaker box , so ran a 110 volt cord from one to the other and used a powerline.
Now ,I have to have the PC that is running N.O.I. to be set on static on its router so I can use my NF.
Right now everything is working as is supposed to. BUTTT..... its time to mess with it , right?
When My PC is off ( running N.O.I. ) the NF is also off, soooo.. is it possible to set up a "thin Client" to run N.O.I . and let it run always?
Using the same Netgear router that my PC and all other devices are using , or should I try to set up the thin Client with N.O.I. and just using the Netgear as a static for it and the NF only and use the Linksys as the primary and set up on DCHP , with a cat cable to the Netgear router/thin client?
