i am looking to buy a SAT METER

hi guys i need your help, i am looking to buy a sat meter which will show signal before i hang the dish.

i mean i hold a sat meter in my hand then i walk all around my home where ever the SAT METER shows signal then i hang the dish at that location.

pleasecan any body let me the name of a sat meter which will find signal before i hang dish.

so you mean there are non sat finder in the market like this which will show signal before hang the Dish.

i already wast my days to hang dish 118 & 119 on 3 diffrent places, still i did not get success, because the view South clear & west block. but atleast one small spot having signal there., so this time decided with out hang dish, by using SAT METER i want to check, if meter shows signal then i habg the dish on that spot.

i don't mind to spend money, if i got right instrument, which is really helpfull.

That's what dishpointer.com is there for. To give you sight lines to the satellite and possible obstructions to the signal. You can pin the dish at the location. When you know where the satellite is at, you can tell by sight if you are going to get a signal or not.. There isn't anything on the market that will do what you are asking without having a dish and lnb.

if you have a android phone look for an app called dishpointer pro. it will do exactly what your asking. and if you can't find it or don't wanna buy the app shoot me a pm and i'll see what i can do for ya;)
you can also do a youtube search for "dishpointer" to see what i am talking about.

or can i just buy andriod phone & i don't want to activate it, but i want to use this for sat finding purpose etc, is this going to work if i not activate andriod phone.

That app is for phones. It's put out by the dishpointer site that I mentioned earlier.
http://www.dishpointer.com/ It only helps to show you where the satellites are. The same thing your eyes, the figures, and a compass will tell you. You have to be able to accept that there are places where you can't put up a dish.

Go to this site, enter your address and it will show you the exact direction your dish should be pointed. With the correct az & elevation your good to go.

Yes your receiver will work fine:thumbsup:

A question I have is, What is the model of your LNBF???
Why do you have it set for universal 10750?

Universal settings are 9750 - 10600

Most LNBF's for DN are Standard or DP Plus 11250

A few are Standard Circular, or DP Plus 10750 for 118/119

And finally start with TP 12253, not 12224

You use standard as lnb type with the 119/118 lnb. And 12297 is the tp to use on 119 to get a signal. All the lower ones are spot beams.

2 things,
Either your settings are wrong, or you are pointing at the wrong sat.

when any un wanted signal pickup then shows on top in blue box like "echostar 110w", in this bule box never shows 119w

Well I dont know about the particular DiSEqC settings for that LNBF, but if it were me I would think I've found 110. I would put a mark on the pole & then move it some more looking for 119

agree. plus, if you're getting 110, then you should have no problem getting 119. it's going to just a hair to the right and up a bit.
