a nice "personal" analysis/synopsis by a member on a forum...
it reflects my personal thoughts in general...

Why Nagra 3 will NOT be out !!!
Alright, I finally had to write something about this Nagra3 non-sense hack that every forum is exploding with.
Especially with long paragraphs of repetitive material. Cards, Hacks, Cardless bins, All open, PPV, XXX, Cams, Programmers, Readers, Software, etc. etc. blah. blah.
I am getting really tired and for the better understanding of everyone, I have decided to share my thoughts on this subject. This is just my humble review and of course, I could be very well wrong.
You have to remember 1 thing very very clear before we start!
Nagra + NDS both are very big companies that provide content encryption and do not make cards exclusively for DN/DTV.
NDS has over 70 countries listed on their website that use NDS systems and Nagra supports over 50 companies worldwide with N3 encryption.
FTA N3 iks-less hack means that cam has been compromised and therefore copy of the cam is emulated inside a binary file for a receiver.
Let's date back to where it all started.
Long long time ago, there was a NDS/DTV hack, everyone loved DTV and no one even knew DN/Nagra. How can DN compete with such as widely popular company like DTV, so mysteriously we see a hack come out of DN and Bang "free TV for everyone"
Some material out there suggests that DN released the original hack just to become popular. Just like Microsoft sent pirated office software to big company employees at home so they like ms office at home and then go to work and demand from management to get office from Microsoft because it was "so good". Anyway, every big company plays dirty to gain profit.
Around 2005, DTV finally decided to put an end to their "problems" and along with Feds/FBI/Govt officials decided to nail down everyone who even thinks of ever hacking a DTV/NDS card. Rumor was that some guys did have a hack and then they went "missing". From 2005 until now, no P4/P5 public hack because NDS / DTV is equal to the US Government. NDS makes secure cards for US military so even if anyone thought of releasing anything, they knew the consequences. "Big brother."
N1 hack was around for a long long time. Dealers/Consumers were used to original IRD with mods, keys, tiers, programmers, isos, avr, etc. etc. and trust me piracy was real underground and you could get "tv" by knowing someone who knew someone and it was not easy for end-users. End-users were paying very high price and never complained. If tv was "down" no one bitched!
Some very smart people thought that in this region no one has used the good name of "Free To Air" to capitalize on this market region. All of sudden we see Silverbullet and Blackbird come out!
Fortec and Pansat already had deep pockets and they had been doing FTA business for long long time in this part of region. Both of them decide to take advantage and boom - we saw FTA explode!
Manufacturers had a FTA receiver that was capable of doing all that hard dirty work and the money was too easy for manufacturers. Some companies did not even know how fast and how big they will get and of course it was all so called "LEGAL"
Importing, buying, manufacturing, wholesaling, retailing, being in possessions was all legal was it was "FREE TO AIR" receiver.
This could not have been easier than this. Manufacturers had found a loophole and from 2005-present, they used the good name of FTA to gain millions just like in the name of "honor killings" they kill their family members. 100% Bull sh*t!!!
Back to DN: After becoming enough popular in market, DN decided to put an end to their "problem". Unfortunately some FTA manufacturers had tasted the "easy" money in this game and decided not to stop.
Companies like Digiwave/Fortec decided to play smart and did not enter the N2 market.
14 days after the N2 completes, apparently Coolsat comes with a "fix" and then the whole thing starts again. Of course, pansat, coolsat, viewsat, sonicview, all see huge money making opportunities and go all crazy.
Meanwhile DN/Nagra was getting upset because what they started really got to them and now they again needed to "fix" the problem. Left, right and center, we see forums disappear, individuals busted and put behind bars, stores raided. Selling FTA became like selling drugs. If your business had anything to do with FTA it was frowned upon and most likely you we were on the "hit" list. DN/Nagra probably sued for over 2 billion dollars so far in FTA lawsuits from companies and individuals.
Around summer 2009, N3 was implemented but of course public iks boys were new boys on the block and showed off their new cool toys but the problem was that market with "Internet connected" receivers was really low. Not all people were technical and wanted their ip address exposed so the market did not respond like a iks-less receiver but many still bought.
All big brands like nfusion/sv/sonysat/dreambox/cnx/viewsat/limesat/dreamlink/etc. etc. all decided to support users over public servers but we all know NOT a single one survived.
nfusion - lawsuit
sonicivew - even till today lawsuits
sonysat - lawsuit
dreambox - lawsuit
cnx - just disappeared / may be a lawsuit but no court case I have not been able to find online
many others I have not listed - read forums to find lawsuits
Finally these wounded manufacturer could not sell enough IKS boxes to make enough revenue to support their public systems.
Then the private server idea appears. Not so private when you advertise your "private" server in market. I call them publicly advertised private servers. With this method at least they were getting enough monthly money to fight ECM / and support the programming.
As I write this long analysis, I don't see good future of this "bad FTA". DN/Nagra have fought and brought down of the big boys and these small things are merely a problem for them.
I just laugh at how some publicly advertised private servers think they are "untouchables".
So final point to why there will be NO hack of Nag3.
1 - If there was a hack, the problem will be WORLDwide for Nagra. Of course the hacker should set the price of the hack to 1 billion us dollars because almost 50 countries FTA manufacturers would like to get that to make money.
2 - They have very strict contracts with content providers that mention that if in "x" number of years encryption is broken, they are responsible.
3 - Which FTA manufacturer in this region is still around to take the first bullet to bring the hack?
4 - With new rules like SOPA, PIPA and etc. etc. life will become more miserable for public servers/hackers.
So please do not believe a word that you read on any hack for free tv N3. They just want your hard earn money and in today's current economic conditions, don't waste your money on any non-sense memberships/vip forums/hacks because There WILL BE NO HACK for Nagra.
Hope this helps. Sorry it is long but had to cover a lot of history for users to understand what it really all means!
Don't be worried, I am not part of any agency, or undercover, or informant. I have read the "disclaimer". Just expressing my opinions.
