Satellite Radio in the home

Okay, someone told me that since I have XM radio in my car which is parked outside I can get a home unit (receiver) and listen to XM in the home.
He explained to me that I would be able to listen to the same station that I have tuned in inside my car.
Is this true?
I always thought you needed an actual sat radio antenna exposed or near a window.

The receiver should have a built in fm transmitter, goto menu fm transmitter,frequency selection and select a station, however you would be better to get the home dc adapter or rig something up yourself as the receiver has to be on to be able to receive in house.

I would think the key would have to be on in the car for the radio to work.
I don't think the fm transmitter in the radio is strong enough for long distance.
I have the dc adapter for mine and use it inside the house.

You need one subscription per receiver... I do believe you have access to all of the channels online as part of your subscription though. Some of the networked media streaming units and stereo receivers may be able to tune in as well.

I have Serius Radio and basically perform internet streaming via an App on my iPhone and iPad, as well as, my Sonos system. No need to buy an additional receiver from XM or Serius.
