Get a package of 'Tang' (breakfast drink) and dump it into a empty dishwasher and run full cycle. It will remove most of the stains on the first application. 'Tang it' once every few months to keep the insides clean and white.

So where exactly do you place the Tang breakfast drink?
In where you would usually put the powder to do a normal wash?
I got a mild trace of coloring inside the dishwasher and I want to try and get it cleaned out nice and white.

we buy citric acid in bulk and use a table spoon every time.
keeps everything nice and clean.

Into a empty dishwasher dump a package or a cup of tang (just toss it into the washer) and it cleans best on a hot cycle.
You don't even have to rinse after it's done. It's the same thing that 'mj420' uses - citric acid.

I use a half cup of distilled white vinegar once a month and it keeps mine clean.
