Hey would someone like to start a wine, as in "Red Wine" chat forum? I am a wine drinker and it would be great if anyone out there finds a great year or vineyard that "the trades" have yet to discover!
Other than true French, I have found Trader Joes has a great selection, as they buy out whole vinards that are in trouble....
Would love to hear some feedback, I'm sure there are a lot of closet wine snobs out there, as this forum seems to have all walks of life....
Just a thought,

Thought this was about "real wine"

If there is a demand for a real wine section I will make one.. Unfortunately most of the great uknown wines are found in countries like Spain, Portugal,Chile , Argentina and are never imported into the North American market..
Lets see if there is a demand and I will gladly open one up..

I am not an oenophile... however I do occasionally partake of the grape... particularly on holidays ...once I broke a friends newer litre & a half bottle by mistake... I replaced it with something older & smaller ... he was very happy at the exchange

True that.... I know what you are saying about all the great Australian , chillian , and south African wine.... It never make it. Fortunately a friend has a import business, and brings a lot of these in the us. It is so hard to market these, unless u spend millions. It really is sad

I love trader joes, they are one of the largest buyers of wine in the world, or so I'm told....
I bet you get some great wine, probably even get to taste futures, or bet on them

No but I did visit Chateau Petrus in Pomerol, just outside of St Emilion in the outskirts of Bordeaux.. Beautiful countryside but that Petrus is overrated.. Chateau Cormeil Figeac is more afordable a 2003 goes for around 35$ A well kept secret and afordable Grand Cru Classé.. Small viniard only 20 acres of vines.. A similar vintage Petrus may set you back close to a grand..

I have family in Europe so we buy wines when the grapes are still on the vines in mid July and begining of August.. Great prices and then they are aged in natural caves for a few years.. A fun hobby where you can make some money if your not an alcoholic..LOL

Been to St Emilion, Pomerol 3 times, each time I spent 4 days there.. Its changed a lot from my fist visit in 78.. Its now become too commercial..
Moved on to other areas that havent become corrupt..

Do you buy futures or get to speculate on what will be a great year.... I have made a great deal of cash on futures..... It's a twisted form of the stock market!!!! To say he least.... Lol

JCO..... You know your s$&!
JCO..... You know your s$&!
I'm a jack of all trades and master of none.. Learning and having fun is the name of the game..
I dont play futures.. I actaly take posesion of cases and cases of wines with a few of my cousins and the are then resold to restaurateurs 4 to 6 years later.. Much safer and better returns than the stock market.. Besides that I dont drink, so there is no shrinkage of the inventory...LOL
