There is this small device that has a cable that can fit into a port below the driver's dashboard to check for dashboard error's what is that device called? I cant find any pics of it on the internet, and I saw my cousin use it once (he is not available for me to ask him)

Its a small plastic blue thingy, that has a small screen on it that displays error code's (if ur dashboard has a flashing light)

its called a code scanner ,,or computer scanner some cheap models give you code numbers and you look it up in a book to see what the code description is ,,other scanners give you that plus it gives you data stream to tell you how each sensor is reading and working..and both can clear the codes from the computer ..

I have an Innova code reader, it not only tells you the code but it also tells you the code definition right on the display. It's well worth the extra money to get the one that has the code definitions, I think when I bought mine there was only a $50 difference between the two.
