PITTSBURGH - Pittsburgh Penguins star Sidney Crosby is out indefinitely with concussion-like symptoms.

Crosby said Monday he noticed a recurrence of the problems that sidelined him for more than 10 months earlier this year following a 3-1 loss to Boston last week.

Crosby sat out Pittsburgh's two-game road trip to Philadelphia and New York as a precaution but said he's noticed familiar symptoms during light workouts over the weekend.

The 24-year-old former MVP said there is no timetable for his return but he will definitely not play on Tuesday against Detroit.

Crosby has 12 points in eight games this season, but hasn't scored a goal since netting two in his season debut on Nov. 23 against the Islanders.

Crosby called the setback beyond frustrating but stressed it was important to be safe.

Hope I`m wrong as I said a long time ago----but Crosby is done.

You got that right bud....I`m figuring he`s probably the #2 player in the world behind Pavel Datsyuk. But I congratulate the kid for being smart enough to sit...he`s got a long very lucrative future ahead of him hockey or not.

Sounds like another Eric lindros like,, shortened career due to concussions
too bad.. plus I have him in my hockey pool

We are 13 in the pool and I took him in the 4th round figuring even if
He plays 2 thirds of a season I would still do good,, but looks like he
Will miss more than that,, so yeah its gonna probably hurt,,,

Seems like it`s becoming an epidemic in the NHL these days..."out due to concussion-like symptoms".

Well Cherry explains best when he says the players today are 6' 2 ,, 210lbs of muscle skating at 15 miles per hour
And that means someone is going to get hurt!! And it's clear players are getting board pasted!!!

Right you are terisagirl and right Cherry is-----also throw in the fact that players are loaded in hardened plastic body armor and many have very little respect for each other.
