hi,got this hp dv4 laptop w/vista with the admin password or power on password screen when it boots up and wanted to know if anybody knows how to crack or bypass this screen cause i can't do nothing with it. It has vista. I bought this laptop at a swap meet and thought i was getting a good deal. If anybody can help me get this thing going it would be great. thanks!

as long as it's not a BIOS password, this tool will crack a windows vista password

If you cant get passed the password
and dont mind losing vista and whatever
is on the hardrive and have a copy of windows 98
install it then reinstall whatever os you want sounds
dumb but it works.

Without more info, it's hard to help. Try booting while holding the "insert" key, or holding the f8 key, or smoking ganja (won't work, but you won't care). Look at boot for bios escape, eg, Pheonix, then search the net... shewt, I can't do everything. :D

Best I can do.

If it`s a user password, there`s a free program called Hiren`s boot CD and it eliminates all user passwords. The latest version is 15.0 I think. Just let it boot from the CD and look for password removal.
