Ok so say I deceided to put up a new ku dish ( because I have one spare) does any one have any suggestions as the what bird for reception in Canada. What would the reasons for your suggestions be. I am looking for something to fill in the boring spots on my OTA schedule. (I'm mostly bored with no tweaking to do...)

Aim to 97 for the most channels, 101 for the best two channels, History and Biography, or with a big enough dish and ac3 dolby receiver and audio to 125 for PBS and Create.
Better yet, get a motor and a big dish to get 'em all.
Don't forget a linear or universal lnb too.
Forgot, Retro tv on 83 with a more biggerer dish.

Where in Canada are you? I would use a standard linear L N B F. How big is the dish?

As Paul asks, where are you located and what type of programming are you looking for. Don't forget to mention the size of your dish, lnb type and what stb you plan to use for fta.

If you go to dishpointer.com, you can see what size dish is required for what satellite from your location.

Lyngsat is also a useful site, you can see the footprints so as to estimate what size dish would be required. Unfortunately, your dish is to small for fta. You might want to upgrade dish size or go the route of iks for the moment.

I do agree with costactc,,,The footprints gives you a better idea,,,Dishpointer is a great site for positioning,,,but I have noticed quite a few times that they were a little misleading in regards to dish sizes,,,,,
Cheers,,,
