Lost power to GI 920 . Lost all birds saved. Went to reset birds , only those in factory reset came up. I always go to G1 3 when I turn off tv. Other satellites have not returned (no ku or newer birds). I have unit ID,did not lose it. ? What sat. do I have to be on to get updated info?

I'm not a 100% sure, but I think it's W5

Satillite W5 doesn't have any update capability and the original old G1 Ch3 sat update channel is dead also.
According to Skyvision anyone that needs to get their units updated can go to satellite X4 and manually tune in on a channel (201 - 900's) that indicates its a subscription channel and then you can get the updates, it will update sats and tv guide on any of the subscription channels. Also need to make sure the DC light on the unit is on indicating its getting a good signal.

Whats the purpose of your 4DTV
>positioner only?
>positioner plus free-to-air receiver?
IF using unit just as a positioner
look for an inexpensive VBox or GBox
good for reed sensor (2-wire) actuator

Thanks for the help. I can not get any channels above 24, on the sats I can program in. I use 4Dtv to move dish.

There is a program in the works out there that can restore the missing satellites. I would have the battery changed in that receiver ASAP if you plan on keeping it. I changed my battery and it wasn't that hard if you can solder. I have a DSR920 but I dont have my dish setup yet.

Battery Replacement guide:

It's not an overly difficult procedure if you can solder...
And have a big soldering iron, those things sink a lot of heat.
