I hope someone can help.

I just have those two systems simply installed with a dish 500 with two single legacy LNB's pointed at 110/119 - very simple installation and works perfectly. But when I introduced another single dish with single legacy LNB pointed at 129, I changed to two disecq 4X switches. This is when all the problems started - none of the LNB's show up except 110 in the disecq settings within the receivers no matter how I play with the settings. I swapped out several different kinds of disecq switches to rule out a bad unit, but none work. When I go back to the sw21 switches for just 110/119, everything works fine. Also, on a side note I was using the sw21 settings for the sw21 switches and the disecq port settings 1, 2, 3 for the disecq switches when connected to 110/119/129. I am at a loss, and very disappointed because I have that 129 sat all pointed and ready to go, but cannot use it with my Viewsat 9000.

TIA.

I suggest you try grounding the switches.

Ok thanks. Also, I was wondering, could I also use a 22khz switch on the receiver end of the sw21 going to my Viewsat? - I only need the extra 129 sat going to that receiver.

I agree with Stman, try grounding the switches, do this with 12 gauge copper wire, all grounds (dishes and switches) must go to one single ground wire connected to a good earth ground.

Also some of the newer switches don't play nice with the old legacy LNB's, the legacy LNB uses a DC voltage to switch between the satellites transponder polarity's, +13 to + 14.5 volts DC equals Right or Vertical polarity, +18 to +19.5 DC equals Left or Horizontal polarity.

If the switch wont pass this DC voltage on to the LNB due to the internal DC resistance being too high you will have switching problems, also cheap coax that is too long will affect the switching.

Ok I'll give that a try - thanks!
