View Full Version : Moved HH90, now no signal, no move
Last week I moved my unused-for-2-years-Stab-HH90 to a new location.
I have a major problem;
I am using a good Dish LNB for the new set up.
I measured the voltage; +- 14 at the receiver end, and 12.5 at the LNB end.
I had oxidation on the cable, I cut and replaced the F connection.
I don't get "Signal". I tied 3 receivers. Same thing.
On one receiver "Signal" jerks rapidly between 20 and 60. on another it stays at 5% etc etc
The motor doesn't move. (Actually it did only once, I think!)
Is there anything else I should do to get signal, so I can use it again?.
I checked again
The signal level is > 75% when an LNB is connected directly to the end of the cable but goes down to 5% when it passes via motor
What should I do? Any suggestion?
Is there any other way of checking the motor, beside the "trouble shooting" pages of the manual?

You had oxidization on the cable ends. There is probably the same on the connections to the motor itself.

I would try a cleaner used for electrical connections, a small brush for the threads. If you can find a small brush for the internal coax connection or cut a clean piece of the internal wire and slide it in and out until you get a clean connection.

Thanks,
I went further, just cut couple of inches on each end of the cable and fixed the connectors. Much better now.
But unfortunately my Invacom is dead.
The protective plastic "glass" on the horn was broken and I suspect snow has gotten in and has rusted the metal inside. I'm thinking whether it can be repaired or I have to dish out another 60-70 bucks (sorry, loonies) again!
It gives only 20 % level when connected to the receiver via a 3 feet cable.

I think you're going to be shopping for a Invacom quad polar... :)
Darn, I bought the first one thinking there a life time guarantee :grr:
Well, thats-a-lifa!
Thanks for the tips

If the linear part of the lnb is still good you can put plastic in the throat to convert linear outputs to circular.
Thanks but the lnb bled to its death. Water had gotten in and had rusted the horn.

I had a feeling that was going to be the case.

Another user had that same trouble & when he contacted the company they replaced the LNBF...It took a while but they did honor the guarantee...Just a FYI
