Next week I will be going to help my brother setup his box. The previous homeowners were subscribed to Dick, the dish500 still sits on top of their home. I wanted to make sure that it was pointed at 110/119 before I begin setting up anything else so I hooked up an old SV1000 receiver to see if I can get any signal/quiality. While I was in Sat settings and looking at 119 settings, 110 showed up on the upper right corner. Im not sure what LNB type so I was trying all settings and quality/signal came in.
My question is what are the settings for this type of dish(DN500)? Id like to know LNB type(standard-ocs-dp-etc), frequency and what type of switch. The dish is mounted on top of a 2 story home where we cant get access to so I really cant get a closer look.

IF its a D500 dish and a newer one (LNB's have a big DP logo on them) then it should be the following, OCS-DP (LNB type) 11250 (LNB frequency) and the DP LNBs have internal Diseqc switches so set the following on your satellites menus, Diseqc set to port #1 for 119, port #2 for 110.
Sorry forgot something, are there 2 LNB's or one big one?

Most likely your lnb type will be Dp.As far as the switch we would need to know if it's a Dp twin or quad..

In order to properly set this up, the best way is to see on your own eye's what type of switch and lnb that dish have , don't go with guessing game , cus is a waste a time
Any way depends how old is that dish and what type lnb have ...??? like 2x single DP or 2x Legacy , or Twin DP or Twin Legacy or DP Plus , your settings may be various ......
try find out on roof first then post your findings...

The best way to tell is to take a pic using a zoom lens and post it here. Then we will know for sure what lnb/s you have up there.

IIRC there dual LNBs with the DP logo on it

I will try to get an extending ladder so we can get up and get a better look at it.
When I was going thru Dish setting, on 119 I was skimming thru Disqe switch and there was nothing on Port1 but port 2 110 showed up on upper right corner

I will try but none of us has a camera that has a good zoom, we only have the small digital cameras.

OK, so we are up and running but we dont get 119. We have our settings set at OCS-DP, LNB frequency 11250 disecq port1 119/ port 2 110.
But when we move the disecq port settings nothing changes, it remains 110 on all ports. I dont what kind of switch he is using if he is using any but I took some pics. Im not sure if you can make it out cause it has paint all over it but it has 3 connections. I never seen this switch before, Im more use to the conventional FTA disecq.
I need your opinion on what I should do next to get 119. Is is a SETTING issue or switch?
Heres how his hardware looks like. I forgot to mention but the LNB has the DP Plus on it, as you can see.

OK the one dish has a DP twin LNB on it, that one should be used for 110/119, the switch settings sould be Diseqc 1 = 119 2 = 110.
BUT what is the other dish for???? And if the one dish with the Twin LNB (the big one) is pointing at 110/119 (check with dishpointer.com) then the other one with the single LNB is pointing at some other satellite that is far to the west of 110/119 (148 maybe, but that satellite is not there anymore)
The switch under the roof eaves could be a SW21, but you do not need that switch with a DP twin LNB.
You going to have to go to dishpointer.com and look at where 110/119 satellites are at from your location, it will tell you what satellite the dish with the big LNB is pointing to, and where the dish with one LNB is pointing to.
Once you find out what is pointing at what, then we can go further.
If you only want 110 and 119 then the dish with the big LNB on it is the one you should be connecting to, (and pointing to the 2 satellites) then you can by-pass that switch.
On dishpointer.com you have to select the "Multi-LNB" selection then enter your location, zoom in on your house and see where things are pointing.

The dish on the right has a DishProPlus Twin LNB as the dish on the left has a DP dual LNB and is feeding the input port of the DPP Twin. One would think the DPP Twin dish is pointing to 119/110? As for the other dish, I would think it would be used for 129 and perhaps it has been moved, swung to the west?

Thanks again for all the replies. I'll be heading out there again this weekend to try to sort things out. We are going to disreguard the dish on the left and try to aim for 119 or Im hoping its a wire or setting issue.
Im assuming that the dish hasnt been moved since my brother moved in and it should be pointed at the right satellites. So these DishProPlus with dual LNBs has built in switches? Should I eliminate the switch under the roofes eaves? Do I need to hook up a 4x1 diseqc switch? How is the wiring suppose to look like under the dual LNBs? 110 output into 119 to output TV? Did that make any sense?
