JOLIET, Ill. – NASCAR officials have found no evidence of wrongdoing on the part of driver Paul Menard or his No. 27 Richard Childress Racing during last weekend’s race at Richmond, Va.

NASCAR President Mike Helton said Friday the sanctioning body would “take another look” at the incident in light of complaints from other drivers Menard may have intentionally caused a caution to help his teammate Kevin Harvick win the race.

On Saturday, NASCAR officials said they had seen or heard nothing to indicate anything inappropriate had taken place.

“I’m glad it’s behind us,” Menard said Saturday after qualifying second for Sunday’s race.”

Jeff Gordon was the first to raise suspicions about Menard's spin with his post race comments Saturday night. On Thursday, during a media appearance, Gordon called Menard’s actions “fishy.”

Gordon was leading at the time of the caution. After pit stops, Harvick retook the lead and held Gordon off the final 12 laps.
