Who catching fire and who's still looking for the kindling in NASCAR as we head into the Michigan race weekend:

HOT

MARCOS AMBROSE: Good things still happen to good people.

BRAD KESELOWSKI: Since he broke his ankle, he has a win and a second. What's next?

KYLE BUSCH: No wins at the Glen, but he is the new Sprint Cup points leader (by tie-breaker).

KURT BUSCH: Subs for Keselowski in Nationwide race and wins pole and the race. Doesn't get better than that.

NOT

DENNY HAMLIN: The hit he took at the Glen could end up leaving him with far more than a headache.

DAVID RAGAN: A month ago he was looking at a Chase spot. Now, he's on the outside looking in.

BORIS SAID: No Christmas cards from the Biffle family this year.

THIS WEEK

Pure Michigan 400

What: 200 laps or 400 miles.

Where: Michigan International Speedway, a 2-mile, slightly banked, paved oval located in Brooklyn, Mich.

When: 1 p.m. Sunday.

TV: ESPN.

Radio: Motor Racing Network.

Last year's winner: Kevin Harvick.

ALSO THIS WEEK:

VFW 200, Camping World Trucks Series, Michigan International Speedway, 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Speed.

NAPA 200, Nationwide Series, Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, Montreal, 2:30 p.m. Saturday, ESPN.

Worth mentioning: Desmond Howard, the former Heisman Trophy-winning University of Michigan football star and current ESPN college football analyst, will serve as grand marshal for Sunday's Cup race at Michigan. He is one of only four players to win both the Heisman Trophy and Super Bowl MVP.
