Our Boy just got his shots, 5 to be exact .. its been a week now today, but he's still running a fever, and now he is breaking out with a "spotted" rash, 1 of the vaccines was a "live" dose, and we were told that he could very well contract the virus and then the body will fight it off... And did I Mention that he is CRANKY ....our normal happy go lucky boy doesn't stop crying for long .....we called the doctors, and they said that this is normal...but I have concerns, wanted to get other inputs , his fever hasn't been above 101 at the highest, it's normal now, but still has the spots and cranky as hell, he will drink fluids, but doesn't really eat a whole lot right now....

Babies have a way of fighting off the live virus injected. However on the Dr's part ...They should have recommended infants Tylenol or something similar for the fever and to take some of the discomfort away.
I would give them a call and also ask if it is ok to put some Calamine lotion on the rash..
I am thinking that rash is itchy as hell for the little guy and he does not have the ability to scratch that itch..
I am no doctor but we did bring up our children/grandchildren/neighbors kids..and unless things have changed.. The above was the order of the day..in our time/.

Thanks Bro, We have been giving him Motrin per DR's orders and infant Benadryl for the itching .....He's okay now, at least he's sleeping right now .... We are watching him closely , of course, but figured that I would get some more insight from others...I have googled the heck out of it....with all different answers....and of course, if we become too concerned, then we will just take him to the hospital ...

U got that one down pat my friend..
As long as he is drinking liquids he will not become dehydrated,, That is the biggest enemy u will have to deal with..
The rest will fall into place ...
But keep the red highlighted part as the ultimate back up./.
