Hello,
I currently have a dish (dont know how big it is exactly, maybe 18-20 inches) and it is set at 110/119... Satbeams says the recommended dish size for 118 in my area is 21.7 inches and the recommended dish size for 119 is 18.9 inches. My 110/119 is 100% Quality and it never goes down, even during storms...
My question is that if I just replace the 119 LNB with a Circular Dual LNB, will I get 118 and 119 with the dish I have now?

You need the special LNB that does both 118.7/119 Just replace that LNB and you are good to go; but do you have the Y LNB adapter that only takes D shape LNBs? because the LNB I'm talking about is the square type like the Direct TV LNBs

What you need to check is the dish size needed for 119/118/110. Dish sizes for individual satellites is different.

But he gets 110/119 with 100% quality on the same dish, so technically 118.7/119 should be doable on the same LNB no problem. But he's probably using a Dish 500 with the Y LNB Bracket and Dish/Bev D shaped LNBs

This is the bracket im using at the moment, it is up and running right now..., I'm also using using two LNB's that look just like that for 110/119.
So will it work if I just replace the LNB?

Then you should be fine just replacing the LNB for one that gets 118.7/119 at the same time. As long as you get strong signal on both 110/119 because I heard 118.7 is weaker than the other 2. But 118.7 is basically in the same location as 119 so you just need to replace the LNB and configure the LNB settings with the correct settings for 118.7

118 is a bird of a different feather though.

118W has a lower power output then the 110/119 Dish satellites, this is because it is a "C" & "Ku" band satellite, this means the transponders are lower in output power level then the all "Ku" band ones.
In this case you will need a bigger dish then the 18" ones used for just 110/119.

So it wont work at all? Why is Satbeams saying a 20 inch dish is enough?

It is a weak signal output,119 will come in real east 118 will be about 50,someone gave me a 1002 i use it for this.depends on where you are at a bigger dish will help get it easier.

In my area it shows at least a 25", others it shows a 33", so for compensating for weather fade I would go for at least a 30" to 33".
The Dish 1000+ is used for 110/118/119/129, look at the link below for spec's on the dish size they use.

Actually it is saying you need what amounts to 22" and that is more of just a guideline for the EIRP. That can vary widely in an area. We aren't saying that it won't work at all. We are saying that you would be better off using a larger dish.
