Hi,

I need some help in understanding the skew reading and how to apply this to an 18"x24" elliptical dish. These are the settings from dishpointer for pointing to 82/91/110/119. I'm using a 5-LNB bracket with the middle one having no LNB.

Elevation: 32.1°
Azimuth (true): 213.8°
Azimuth (magn.): 227.4°
Dish Skew [?]: 108.5° clockwise

When it says 108.5 for the dish skew, how many degrees should I apply to my 18"x24" dish?

Right now, I get 3 of 4 birds on the 5-LNB bracket. I get 82/91/110 but I am not locking on 119. I get a signal/quality of 70/20 for 119. I get strong Q's on 82/91/110.
I think it might be my skew but I am not sure.

For dish skew, dishpointer says 108.5 clockwise, so standing from behind the dish, do I rotate the dish clockwise to 180 - 108.5 = 71.5? or do I take 108.5-90 = 18.5 and add 18.5 to the start of the scale for the skew. Assuming start of skew scale is 30, it would be 30+18.5 = 48.5 for the skew?

Can someone clarify this for me? Thanks.

90 + 18.5=108.5, the skew is done looking from the back of the dish, 90 degrees (dish and LNB horizontal to the ground looking from the back) is the starting point, then you add the 18.5 to the 90 degree starting point to get the 108.5 skew, this would be turning it clock wise.

Ok, thanks. I'll try that. Thanks again.
