i'm selling my house and have to leave the mast to 1000.2 dish since it's attached to the house, but i'm able to remove the dish that's mounted on it. so i need a replacement mast for my 1000.2. i thought this would be relatively easy to find, but i'm having difficulty finding one from a canadian retailer. can anyone help me out? thanks.

there's no law saying you have to leave a mast attached to a house when you move

has nothing to do with law
it has to do with who's making the purchase
if I bought your house and after you left I found holes in the side there'd be hell to pay ;)

no, but when you sell a house, you have to leave things that are physically attached to it, unless you have a condition that states you will be taking it with you, and the buyers accept said condition. in my case, they said i could take the dish itself, but had to leave the mast for the reason that dishuser mentioned.
There are actually 2 different masts and feet used on the 1000.2. The one I have the mast and foot is identical to the dish 500, the other is beefier also used on the 1000.4 eastern arc dish.

Those masts are a dime a dozen on places like ebay and craigs list.
You could also try going to the dumpster behind your local satellite retailer / installer and look around.
Also you might check with some of your local roofing contractors. I have one in my back pocket that keeps my dish farm stocked regularly.
Like DU said they are thrown away all the time.

If you were closer to me I would just let you have one. Shipping from me to you would be well more than the $20 your getting ready to spend.
Keep your eyes peeled, you might find a free one out there!
Good luck
