Bell to run Sprint Showdown: Bandit Industries will once again be turning laps on Saturday, only this time it will be with Sprint Cup driver T.J. Bell and LTD Powersports at the forthcoming Sprint Cup Showdown, taking place May 21 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Bell drive the #50 Bandit Industries Toyota Camry to try to gain one of the two remaining spots for the ensuing NASCAR All-Star raceand a chance at a million-dollar prize. "Being able to support LTD Powersports and run in the Sprint Showdown is just huge for us," said Bandit Industries Large Equipment Sales Manager Travis Lint. "This is an exciting event to be a part of, and we know T.J. will give Bandit fans something to cheer about." Though new to Sprint Cup racing, Bell is a veteran NASCAR truck series driver and ARCA Rookie of the Year from 2004. Prior to that, his racing portfolio includes considerable success in the CART Toyota Championship, and he's also competed in every major worldwide auto endurance race, including the 24 Hours of Lemans and the 24 Hours of Daytona. Bell's Sprint Cup debut took place May 7 at the Southern 500 in Darlington, where he qualified and spent 67 laps on track to get a feel for the new Bandit Industries Toyota. The team's debut was low key, as their goal at Darlington was to simply run a few laps for testing and shakedown, and to qualify for a spot in the Showdown, which among other things requires participants to have at least participated in a NASCAR Sprint Cup event prior to the race.
