Moving a BUD-Update!

Hi,

I ended up calling someone to remove it and split the cost with the homeowner. It's a 10' Unimesh dish in pretty good shape except for some rust and ice damage or "blown panel" as explained to me.

I was able to retrieve about 100' of cable and the receiver, a Motorola DSR922 (with manual). It also has a combo C/Ku band LNB that I'm presuming from reading so many posts on this may need to be replaced. That being said:

1. Is it safe to just plug in my Ku dish to test this receiver? I'm seeing a couple of "Prior to..." and "authorized" messages in the book. This monster is a tad more complicated than my Ku receiver!

2. Best way to deal with the rust? Steel brush and repaint? How to I get a snapped bolt out?

Awesome dish bud. Unimesh is wxcellent, Stan also has a unimesh. You'll definitely need a new lnbf for both c and ku band. I would sand down the rust and repaint.
Don't worry about the damage, the dish has probably been there for years and been threw many storms. Keep us posted.
