Hawthorn Valley Nevada earthquake swarm has locals worried.
In the past few days several 4.0+ earthquakes and dozens of lesser quakes have begun to worry locals living in the area, very near Hawthorn valley is the Aurora-Bodie volcanic field, this is located 30 miles due North of the Long Valley super volcano.
Seismologists and Volcanologists are studying the swarm to determine if any possible danger exists to the public, this is a sparsely populated area and the last eruption in the volcanic fields was 20 to 8 million years ago, however Long Valley last erupted 50,000 to 200, 000 years ago creating Mammoth Mountain.
