View Full Version : Sw44
Dish pro 500 with 2lnb (monoblock) single output each (110 & 119).
Trying to conect to a sw44 with power inserter and to 2 fta receivers (not dn receivers)
i'm a bit cofused about "dish 1A, 1B; dish 2A, 2B" inputs.
Where the cables should go from each lnb: 1a & 1b or 1a & 2a ?
What setings should be in the stb: sw44, dish 1 & sw44, dish 2 ?
thx.

You can't use an SW44 with a DishPro LNBF as the technologies are different. The legacy switches (SW44) use voltage to switch polarities, while the DishPro stuff is bandstacked.
In a legacy system, each LNB requires two cables going into the switch, one for 13v and the other for 18v. That's what the Dish 1A and 1B are for....
You don't even need a switch if you're feeding no more than two receivers. The switch is built into your LNB...... I do believe it's Diseqc port 1 and 2.
Thx. how can i feed 2 receivers from 1 cable coming from each lnb (1 output on each) and 1 Diseqc ?

For 2 separate dish DP or DPP LNB's to feed 2 receivers (one coax to each receiver) you need to use a DPP44 switch.
The big problem is the DPP44 power inserter is incompatible with most FTA receivers, you have to run a separate coax from it to the switch receiver port #1 to power the switch, but this still gives you 3 ports for receivers.
A better way would be to use the DP twin LNB (110/119) or a DP quad LNB (still 110/119), this would give you 2 or 4 outputs with out a switch.

If what you are calling a 'monoblock' is a DP twin, you just need one feed to each receiver with no switch since the switch is inside the lnb.

What do your LNB(s) look like?
A, 9897
Or
B.9898
Or like the one Stman posted?
(We think alike Stman)
Like the one att. to satman post.

The switch is internal. Each port can feed one receiver, just run a cable straight from the LNB to your receiver.
In your settings, you configure it the same way you would configure a Diseqc switch. I think 110 is port 1, and 119 is port 2. The LNB type will be OCS-DP.

If that’s the one you have then the LNB will run 2 receivers just fine with out the need for an external switch.
They have internal built in switches, just use the OCS-DP option for the LNB in your satellite setup menu and DiSEqC switch #1 for 119 and #2 for 110, be sure to keep the coax run under 100 feet to each receiver.
Example: (these are a copy of my settings, for my receiver, yours may differ)
Satellite…………………………………110W Echo* 10/11
Transponder…………………………….12224R
LNB Power…………………………….. ON
LNB Type……………………………….OCS-DP
LNB Frequency………………………….11250
22 KHz ………………………………….Off
Switch Type……………………………..DiSEqC
DiSEqC port………………………………2
Legacy SW………………………………Off
Satellite…………………………………119W Echo* 14
Transponder…………………………….12297L (first CONUS TP on this satellite)
LNB Power…………………………….. ON
LNB Type……………………………….OCS-DP
LNB Frequency………………………….11250
22 KHz ………………………………….Off
Switch Type……………………………..DiSEqC
DiSEqC port………………………………1
Legacy SW………………………………Off

My friend is happy now. So do i. to be able to help him with your input.
Resurrecting this post for a new set up;
my friend wants to add 97w & 101w to each box.
he is feeding one coax from twin dp, a coax from 97w & coax from 101w, to a 4x1 disecq.
no image on 110w channels. 119w channels, 97w, 101w work ok.
The dp twin has an internal switch and normally you would setup 119w as DiSEqC 1, and 110w as DiSEqC 2, however you have 1 cable from the dp twin to a separate external 4x1 DiSEqC switch, there is not a way to select 110w from the external switch. What ever port the twin is connected to on the external switch it is defaulting to 119w. There is no setup to select double DiSEqC switches. You could connect another cable from the dp twin and connect 119w port of the lnb to port 1 of the external DiSEqC switch, and 110w port of the lnb to port 2 of the external switch, and 97 and 101 to ports 3 and 4. This way you are not using the internal DiSEqC switch in the lnb. It must be a dp twin lnb not a dpp twin lnb.
thank you, but he has 2 receivers.
your setup works for 1 receiver.
he got rid of dp twin lnbf and installed 2 single dual output with 2 4x1 switches.
he's got all 4 sats on 2 receivers.
Yes your new setup w/ 2 duals is a correct setup for 2 receivers, your post in #11 stated a dp twin lnb only.
