a have a computer with windows 7 my problem is that when i m playing music only one speaker works,it was working fine i went and bought a pair of brand new speakers and nothing,same problem ,what do u guy think is wrong whith it,,thank u in advance

Did you plug them into the right plug in for your sound card and is the plug all the way in. Sometimes if the plug is not push in all the way you only get sound from one side. The other thing to do is go into you properties for audio and check your sliders.

Depending on the type of pc, the sound card may be set to surround sound out (don't remember the exact term) so check the sound card program for settings too. When set to surround, the in and mic ports also are for plugging speakers into

it is pluged all the way in i already checked audio properties an i have it to stereo sound it is a gateway comp.it is weird because it was working fine. i did not adj.anything but thank you for you all's input and the time you spent on trying to solve my problem

Swap the speakers and see if it is a speaker

yes friend i bought a brand new set of speakers and that did not fix my problem,:noidea:

If you tried all of the above may I recommend the following: It is a lenghty process but....
run windows update and install updates.
Check/scan for maleware.
I recommend malewarebytes.
Once that is done then run a defrag.
Check for updated drivers for your system.
If that does not snap the card in then I recommend a new card.

also check sound settings in bios
