Posted these at the other site so I thought I would post them here as well. These are some pics of my modified dtv 18" dish and sg2100 motor. This puppy picks up echo 3 (61.5°W) nimig1 (91°W) echo 10/11 (110°W) echo 7 (119°W) Ciel 2 (129°W). Was able to pick up nimiq 4 (82°W) at one time but the foot print has changed so it is out of range for my location now. Also able to pickup nimiq 5 (72.7°W) but all my stbs are for MPEG 2 compression and this one is not viewable for me at this time. I get very good S & Q with all these sats but I peg out at 99% on both S & Q with the 110 and 119. The dish is about 5' off the ground so it is easy to adjust or make changes.

Also with the changing out of the dtv pan with a dish 500 pan. And strapping about a foot and a half piece of 1X2 to the lnb arm to extend the length of the lnb arm out. And then swapping the circular lnb with a linear lnb I'm able to pick up most if not all the true fta sats. If I ever set it back up this way I'll try and take some pics to post as well.

How did you setup the lnb? or the skew? was the lnb left a lone or slightly skewed left or right? I did a dish 500 years ago with dual lnb's to go from 91/82 to 110 119. worked fine, the hh90 was a little tight in the back, how is the SG2100 lot's of room in the back of the dish?

You do not skew the dish on a motorized setup - skew occurs as the motor rotates the dish . The lnb is monted in the center of the arm and may be skewed to gain better Q . An 18: motorized dish will give you poor performance - unless you are after a few selected circular sats available from your area .

an old dish500 pan will mount on a dtv 18" bracket, eliminating the need for lnb arm extension.
That was my first motorized setup with a loaner motor and I had no big dish to try.

The 18" DTV dishes do not have skew adjustments since they were intended to pick up only one satellite. Since this is for a motor setup and it is for circular satellites (unless you change the dish and lnb) you don't use skew. If you wanted to use the motor for multiple satellites at once, you would need a bracket to provide skew. :)
