Barely a week after returning from a 14-game absence, Boston's Milan Lucic is going back on the injured list.
Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli confirmed on Friday that the 21-year old left winger has a high-ankle sprain, and is expected to miss up to four weeks.
"It could be less, but with these things it's difficult [to predict]," said Chiarelli on the team's website.
Lucic suffered the injury during Boston's win over the Minnesota Wild on Wednesday.
"Hopefully this is the last of his injuries this year," Bruins coach Claude Julien told the Canadian Press on Friday. "It was just a rut in the ice and his foot went the wrong way."
Lucic returned from a broken finger on Nov. 19 and scored a pair of goals over four games before suffering his latest injury. He has two goals and three assists in 10 games this season.
The 6'3", 228-pound forward was signed to a three-year contract extension by the team just prior to the start of the season.
