my daewoo cielo has a popping sound or knocking sound when driving on the passenger side could it be my strut gone on that side?

Could be the strut mount bearing, they do seize up and make a popping/clunking sound, especially when turning hard, especially at low speeds.

Also check things like sway bar end links, tie rods, ball joints and make sure that any parts with grease nipples are lubricated. It doesn't hurt to check the condition of the CV axle boots either, although CV joints tend to make a clicking sound when they go. If the boots are torn or leaking grease, they need replacement.
