The St. Louis Rams have released Canadian S O.J. Atogwe.

The 29-year-old Atogwe was due to receive an $8-million roster bonus on Monday, which prompted the Rams to cut ties with their veteran free safety.

"It's disappointing to be back in this situation, again," Atogwe told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. "Not being able to actually be set at this point in time in my career, with my relationship with the Rams, it's disappointing."

The Windsor, Ontario native had 73 tackles, three interceptions and two forced fumbles in 2010.

"This is a decision we have made at this time with O.J.," G.M. Billy Devaney said in a statement. "We will continue to explore all of our options at the safety position like we will with every other position on our football team."

However, Atogwe isn't ruling out the possibility of returning to the Rams.

"My agent and myself have established a really good negotiating relationship with them, so were we to do something again (with the Rams), I don't believe it would be a difficult task," Atogwe told the Post-Dispatch. "Because there's no bad blood there."

Don`t rule out him going to the Lions------I`m sure the Lions are drooling with the possibility and being he lives only 20 mins from Ford Field it`s a safe bet he`d be interested in hearing the Lions pitch.
