Lately I`m getting a crazy entry on my call display on my cordless phone and want to see if any of you have run across it. My carrier is Cogeco here in SW Ontario----I`ll get a call in, it`ll ring 2 or 3 times, i`ll pick it up and nothing.......call display reads 9-and the last 4 digits of the incoming phone #. Now I know the # well, hasn`t been blocked or anything like that, it comes from a cell phone so it reads Unknown Name then those 5 digits. I called Cogeco but they have no idea what it is. They do see it on my phone activity. Anyone have any ideas?
This only happens with this one phone number and I`m just curious on what it may be.

I dont know if *69 works on cogeco.. It calls back the last caller.. It could give you a hint of who it is..

Yep, we have *69, but like I said I already know who the caller was from the last 4 digits---it`s just strange that the display would read like that when other times the display will read the whole # when she calls. Times the 5 digit thing comes on, she said she didn`t call me.

just a guess here but is she using something like skype or other VOIP program. Possibly could be a new way of phishing for valid numbers for telemarketers in which case she should scan her system for viruses and trojans

if it was happening with others I`d probably do it--but this is the only one and it doesn`t read like that every time she calls from that #.
