There is a huge factor that will decide this year`s AFC Championship---Will Troy Polamalu be effective---in watching Santonio Holmes??
Nevermind that the Jets are known for running the ball, they`ll run alright, as much as they can but the big plays in the game win or lose will be on the side of the field when Holmes and Palomalu face each other. An achilles is murder on a defensive back and when you get that combo of a gamebreaking WR in Holmes who owes a " payback" to the Steelers for letting him go a year ago it could be real bad news for Steeler fans. Steelers will have to put an insane amount of constant pressure on Sanchez (not known for his throwing skills) to keep him from finding Holmes. The Jets don`t need the matchup maybe 5X in the game and if Paloamlu isn`t right---game over on a couple big plays and solid defense by the Jets.

Key to this game will be the Jets` offensive line---if they play well & give Sanchez and Holmes time it`s going to be a long day for the Steelers. JMO

As per TSN

As the New York Jets prepare to face the Pittsburgh Steelers with the AFC Championship and a berth in Super Bowl XLV at stake, Jets WR Santonio Holmes is playing down the fact that at this time last season he was playing for the other side.

Holmes, who was named Super Bowl MVP in 2009 as a member of the Steelers, feels Sunday's game is more about the Jets making it the Super Bowl and less about him getting revenge over the team that traded him last off-season.

"The personal game is out of the way," said Holmes. "The personal game was Week 15 when we played the Steelers. We got that game out of the way and I got a chance to beat those guys the first time around."

Holmes had six catches for 40 yards in the first meeting with the Steelers and the Jets' earned a 22-17 victory.

"I don't care about the Steelers right now. Those guys are in my team's way, which is the New York Jets. If we win the Super Bowl, then everything is personal. That's a slap back in their face for trading me," he added.

Holmes was coming into his own in Pittsburgh on the field, but was struggling with off-field issues. When he was suspended four games for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy, the Steelers had enough and decided to cut ties with him.

The Jets acquired Holmes last April for a fifth round pick, knowing he had to serve his suspension before he could suit up in game action.

The gamble paid off as Holmes went on to catch 52 passes for 746 yards and six touchdowns for the Jets, including scoring three game-winning touchdowns during the regular season.

In last week's victory over the New England Patriots, Holmes was once again crucial as he hauled in a touchdown late in the game to seal the win for New York.

"One of the reasons we brought [Santonio] here is for these kinds of games," admitted Rex Ryan. "Big time players make big time plays in the brightest spotlight and here it is right here."

"AFC Championship time, this is [Santonio's] time."
