This link was circulating around work today, and while no one will ever know how that tank blew it's a good reminder to drain the tank after each use, and make sure the unit is in good condition.
I wonder if hydro-testing by a reputable technician would have uncovered that defect? I know other tanks need to be hydrotested, maybe it's a good idea for compressors too, as they get older?
