As the latest combination of iPhone 4 case and slide-out Bluetooth keyboard, NUU's MiniKey ($70) has its own interesting approach to giving iPhone users a physical typing surface to use on the go. The slide-out keyboard dispenses with dedicated number keys in order to focus on making the rest of the QWERTY keyboard's keys as large as possible, relying on shift and function keys to provide access to numbers and symbols, plus a command key for cut, copy, and paste features -- F-keys and related features are given up. A tiny power switch above the left side of the keyboard and a pairing switch off to the right are joined by pinhole-sized light indicators off to the sides of the keyboard, and satisfying but magnetic rail sliders to move the keyboard back and forth from behind the iPhone 4. Case protection leaves holes for the top, side controls, and bottom of the iPhone, as well as the front, while covering the rest of the sides and the back with black soft touch rubber and a thin layer of padding. NUU is still deciding whether to include a backlight feature for the keyboard, and plans to make a final announcement on the product at CES.
