Price wise I would probably choose sadoun.com. If your planning on using this dish for c band, I would go with an 8' as a 6' will pull in many channels but just a bit too small for those tough tp.

If you want brand new then as Costactc said Sadoun.com is a good choice.
But as others mentioned if you don't care if its used then walk or drive around your neighborhood as lots of people have gone to small dish and will gladly give away their BUD or keep an eye in the newpaper or if you have some kind of local 'Pennypower' type magazine that is full of 'For Sale and Wanted' ads you may see a few in that from time to time as people want them removed from their yards.

Both my bud and the one Stan has were found locally. As Bo mentioned, I had put an ad in the local pennytrader newspaper and I must have received at least 35 calls or e-mails.

I've owned two so far, a 6' and a 10'. I opted to leave the 6 footer at my last house and I don't miss it. It had alot of trouble pulling in many feeds, esepecially DVB-S2 and HD feeds.
The advantage I've found with used dishes is that many of them will already have the correct declination angle set on the mount, so it's easier to set up. It'll still require tweaking though.

As I mentioned in my first post, have a look at sadoun.com. You could also have a look at rickcaylors site as well- they're selling mesh dishes.
I'm gonna add a bit to the original question: Where to get a BUD in Canada? I would rather go for a kit for my first BUD rather than taking an existing BUD and not know how to work it or find out the hard way something is blown, ect.
Thanks.

I'm not too familiar with Canadian sites but you can have a look at my bud Roger at rpssat.com- a bit pricey but top notch quality.

Best value for your dollar is, still to look in your local neighbourhood. Most of these "Kits" are poorer quality, unless you looking at spending thousands.
I have bought 3ea 10'. The actuator was bad on everyone.
10' small mesh Aluminium dish
I would plan on a dish mover (actuator $120 - $350 18" minimum...I like 36" Venture)
DiSEqC box like a VBox ($50 Just google "DiSEQc VBox")
Coolsat 5000 or 6000 ($30 ePay)
LNBF (I like DMX741 or DMX741U) ($40 - $50 I use "Galaxy Marketing" others don't)
Good quality wire (RG6, Ribbon works great $1.50 per foot)

I agree with Gold. Older buds are made of better quality and anything that would lessen the final amount is a bonus.

Those kits you buy online for ~$200 aren't very good, and for a first time user you'll probably have alot of trouble getting all of the panels aligned properly due to the very cheap metal used...
I still stand by getting a good used one.... As long as it's not warped, setup will be much easier. Put that 200-300 towards a new actuator, positioner, and installation supplies, which you'll need to buy anyways.
What happens with BUD's with missing mesh? I'm talking like a little bit not massive quantities. Is that something that can be replaced?

You can buy rolls of mesh, or for some dishes whole panels... Very small tears might not affect C-band too much anyways.

When he said he lived on an island,,,by the look of his name I would say Cozumel Mexico,,,,,,
Having lived there I would defenitely go with a mesh since many Hurricanes make their way there and the island is so so flat with no protection whatsoever,,,,,
Salt air will not help either,,,,,,
I don't know if fiberglass BUDS exists ?????? I wonder,,,,I have seen 4 ft fiberglass before but nver BUDS,,,

I think Fiberglass BUDs exist, but they're heavy and expensive... It's also hard to tell if the internal mesh is good for Ku or not, since it's hidden. I don't think too many people are freely throwing those away to begin with....
tray this one he's got a great price, i did buy from them they are very nice

I had a couple of tears on my bud as well before I installed it. I sewed the tears together with the strongest fish line I could find. Very slow and tedious but worked like a charm.

I have a 10' fiberglass BUD' Its very heavy. From what I've heard the solid dishes just don't have the correct focal point like the mesh do.
I get quite a few signals that are 100% on my mesh, About the highest on my BUD are high 80's.
Plus it's heavy. My wife & I installed it & it took everything we had to get it up. I am either gonna replace it with a 6' offset polar mount or convert it to a solar reflector to heat the shop & house.

The Cancun hotel zone on the 1st etapa (km3-8) still had some on the older hotels, also in the centro a few of the hotels and bars had them.
I really cant think of many in PDC in Cancun near Palenque and Xpuhil there used to be a sat place just behind the used muebles place. Trying to get one from the states can be a real huge pain with aduana and most likely it would cost too much...If you want to go as far as Chetumal they have a bunch of larger dishes there.
good luck and say hi to luis espinosa
