Rainy weather in Toronto doesn't deter Twilight fans

TORONTO - Throngs of Twilight fans braved rainy weather for the Canadian red carpet premiere of New Moon, the highly-anticipated second edition of the blockbuster vampire romance franchise.
Sidewalks in front of Toronto's Elgin and Winter Garden Theatre were lined with enthusiastic fans, or Twi-hards as they call themselves, eager to catch a glimpse of stars from the film Thursday night.
Some screamed while others snapped photos of cast members Billy Burke, who plays Bella's father, and Justin Chon, a high school photographer in the series.
Canadian celebrities like popstar Fefe Dobson and cast members of Degrassi also walked the red carpet.
But none of Twilight's main cast, which includes Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, were on hand.
The real energy was inside the theatre when the lights went down, and fans started to scream with excitement.
Twilight opens nationwide on Friday.
