View Full Version : An Ode To Kenny............

The Cobra

He p*ssed in my garage
Threw-up on my deck
He once told my daughter
She was hot as all heck

He`d drink all my beer
Then open the rye
And soon it was gone
In a blink of an eye

He`d smoke your last cigarette
And then he`d want more
Then shouted with glee
"You gotta go to the store"

A stamp of a lunatic
Could be put on his head
Crossing him once
Would be something you`d dread

He wanted no sympathy
He wanted no tears
All he wanted were his friends
And a couple of beers..............

He laughed and he chuckled
Knowing the smile of my friend
That he`d pass too soon
And miss "Widow`s Weekend"

My dear friend Kenny passed of Cancer this morning at 4am. RIP bud

42 years of demented insanity I went thru with him and his wife------always a laugh, never a boundary too sensitive to cross.

My condolences Cobra. From how you describe him, sounds like he would've gotten a kick out of that poem. Keep the good times in mind always.

Yeah he sure would have-----now let`s see how the rest of them take it. Ken`s daughter was here last nite and my daughter showed her the poem. They laughed their butts off and she took it home to mom-----she in turn called this morn laughing her butt off and wants me to write a bit more and recite it at the funeral home tonite. Hope they all got a sense of humor.

No doubt you feel 'turned inside-out';like a hole in your soul.Time will not heal but will make it fade in this case and you will learn to accept and be happy again. My best friend's mom died suddenly 2 weeks ago on my birthday at 79.He's doing good.I hope you do well too.God bless!

CHIT !!!!!-----Now his wife wants me to read the expanded version at the funeral this morning instead of the visitation last nite. She thinks they`ll love it as she ran it by a few family members last nite in case they were going to string me up, but all went well. Like his sister said---"you had to know the idiot" to appreciate the poem----we`ll see, countdown is on..................

Well I`m still here and no one lynched me-----actually it went off pretty good and we sent my buddy off the way he would have wanted. He even got the last laugh in---a kinda voice from the grave if you will............I expected nothing less. I didn`t want to bore you guys with the rest of the poem or Kenny`s last laugh after you guys have given me to utmost in your support. For that I thank each and everyone of you-----Widow`s Weekend will have to be bigger and better this year although now we are only 5. Thanx again for your heartfelt sympathies.
