View Full Version : Cascading?

I have in my toybox a dp34 and several dp plus seperators and am looking at getting a sw44. I'm wanting to hook up more sats without running into the low power issues but not sure if what I want is possible. I haven't hooked the dp34 or separators up because of the power issues. I just found the sw44 but haven't bought it yet (with power inserter) I and am currently running dpp's.

I want to cascade from the dp34 to the sw44, is it possible? Meaning the sw44 is hooked to the receiver and the dp34 hooked into it. Or with the dp34 and dpp sep. is it possible to get 4 or more sats without major head-aches and power issues?

And while doing this setup, with the sw44, is it also possible to hook one or two of my linear sats (stationary) into the setup? I just may end up taking down part of my dish-farm in the near future if I can get things consolidated a little.

Thanks in advance,

I did, but it didn't have what I am asking, or trying to. The diagram for running the 44 and 34 through a sw22 switch is close, but would still come down to the under-powering issues with some receivers IMHO.
I'm looking to see if it all, or a solution at all) to run everything through a powered sw44 first and then the 22 or 34 switches so the receiver isn't trying to power everything and causing problems.
Would like to have more than 3 outputs too, but think that's going to mean having more than one 44. Or maybe by cascading the 44 and 34 together and running the 22 switches out from the 44?

First off a SW44 switch does not work with DP or DPP LNBs. Perhaps you mean to purchase a DPP44 switch? The DPP seperators will only work with DPP LNBs or DPP switches and there are only 2 switches, the DPP33 and the DPP44. Not sure what receiver you are using as the DPP seperators only work with DN/Bell receivers and only a select few FTA receivers(the SV360Elite for example).

You can cascade a DP34 & a DPP44 switch or a DPP44 & a DP34 switch. Keep in mind that all 8 Rx outputs can switch among 3 sats and the DPP44's 4 outputs would be able to switch among those 3 sats + the 1 sat you could have fed into input port#4 of the DPP44 switch.

If power is an issue, which it sounds like it might, remember you will need to connect the power inserters to each switch.
