HOMESTEAD, Fla. (AP)
Jimmie Johnson has outpaced championship rivals Denny Hamlin and Kevin Harvick in qualifying for Sunday's Sprint Cup season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

Johnson turned a lap of 176.482 mph and will start sixth Sunday. Harvick qualified 28th and Hamlin was 38th. Hamlin won at Homestead from the 38th starting spot a year ago.

Hamlin has a 15-point lead over Johnson and 46-point lead over Harvick in the standings.

Kasey Kahne won the pole for Sunday's race with a lap of 176.904 mph.

It,s going to be real interesting to see how this all turns out after Sunday's race ends..I for one will literally be glued to the big screen from green to checkers..
