hello,
I used to defragg the hard disk regularly, but lately, it does not work anymore, as weird as it sounds.
The program runs and after a while -depending on what I use to try and defrag-
tells me it is done, but shows on the report the very same number of fragmented files. I thought the degrag program was faulty, and downloaded other ones. Now, I have about all of them, from Auslogics to Windows utilities, and the result is always the same. What am I doing wrong?

oh, and another question... I must have clicked somewhere and the bar with edit, tools, bookmarks, etc, disappeared from the top of the laptop. What do i have to do to get it again? thanks again.

You may not have enough free disk space to do a defrag. Rule of thumb may be 15%. Have you tried backing up some files first, then delete from hard drive, then try to defrag?

Another option is to run PageDefragat at startup. I've never used it but here is a link to Wikipedia that explains it:

the laptop has 250 gb on the hd, and I'm using 40 of them... I will look at pagedefrag, thanks.
