Hello
Can someone explain a dead lnb? I have just set up my dish I have S/95 and Q/99,but when I go to the window to do a channel scan for 119 it shows no S/10 Q/0 .Though When I do a scan for 110 it shows S/95 Q99 I do the scan for 110 and get some channels but nothing for 119 when the scan is done for 119 any help would be good.

DP twin LNB or DP dual LNB? (There is a big difference)
You also have to use DiSEqC switch 1 for 119 and DiSEqC switch 2 for 110, (even though you don’t have an external switch) on the DP twin LNB, all other settings are the same for each satellite, except for the TP (12297) as Freddydog1 mentioned to find 119.

Yes that would be the type
So as far as the settings on the channel search they should read as ?
Thanks
2010buddy
settings now
Satellite Echo 7....119 West
DISEqC ..................1
T/P Frequency ..12297
LNB............. DishPro1
22KHz ................OFF
Multi-Dish Switch..OFF
Search Options ....All Channels
LNB Power ...........ON
So now it does not show the satellite on the bottom of the window as to being satellite EchoStar 7?????????????????
Ok now I will explain how that I have it hook up from the LNB I have only one line coming from the LNB that is from the #1 connection .I was told that you do not need a switch with these types of LNB as they are built in to the LNB so both sides each have 110/119 on them.Hope this helps a little

The Nano2 is not a good receiver to aim your dish with, it has had issues with faulty signal readings, if you have another receiver use that to check your signals. Your settings for 119 look fine , 110 would be the same but use TP 12224 and Diseqc #2.
If your not getting the sat-name appearing down by the search button, try changing TP's for a second, if still no-go turn your receiver off with the back switch and try using a different port of the LNB. If your still not getting a lock on the sats then your LNB might be bad or your dish might need to be re-aimed (but use a different receiver if you can).

Thanks I do use the old 3100 box and it gives me a very good reading as I stated .I even tried to use another LNB as well Like I said not sure as to why on the 3100 for the sat findings it displays bird 110 at 109 strength as well quality. This is when I have the window searching for bird 119 it states wrong sat but with those readings .I would like to think that they are the same settings as 119?

If the internal switch inside the LNB is stuck, it will only see 110 no matter what settings you try......or your dish is not aimed properly.

Could it be that when they (DN) replaced Echo* 7 with Echo* 14 the software in the Nano 2 doesn’t recognize the new bird for some resion?
Seeing a lot of this lately…..
Also as Mavrick has mentioned the dish may need adjustment, this type of LNB needs to be skewed correctly to receive both satellites, just getting 110 does not mean you will get 119, you have to be pointing in the right direction (between the 2 satellites) then the skew has to be adjusted correctly.
Take a look at dishpointer.com to see if your dish is adjusted right.

Hi
Thanks for the info so have you heard that there is an issue with the nano 2 box then that it will not see 119 Mind you I have not read anything to say that there was or is .How much of a degree varaience is there between the two I take it one would have to move the dish ever so little say 10 degrees?
119 ie:151 west
elevation 32.9

Perhaps echo 14 instead of 119 then?

I don’t know if there is and issue but some others have posted that they are having problems with this combination of satellites.
Also if you have the DP twin LNB then you need to be pointing in-between the two satellites or you will be missing one, on the dishspointer.com web page look for the 110/119 combo, this will give you the correct direction and skew for that LNB to receive both at once.
In your post you have 119 at 151 degrees at your location, if this is for the single satellite then you need to go 4.5 degrees to the east to get both with that LNB.

What you need to do is start over and skew your dish back to 90 deg. and pull in 119 first and than skew in your 110 sat. 119 is in the same place as allways just its new sat. Your dish pro lnb should only should only pull in ver. channels only,so if you blind scan change to ver.only..

I too in the past have fought with this type of set-up and what I did was use two dish`s one deicated to each bird, with that in mind one can get real good signal and quality, and the dish assembley`s that Iam using came from yard sales.
Now there`s something else that we must keep in mind the DSQ switch`s that come with almost every new FTA box are very cheap so one should spring for a higher quality switch, now there`s one more thing that I did and that was spray the dish it`self( Not The LNB) with a product called Rain-EX this makes the dish slippery so snow etc fall`s off of it, all works fine, just my two cent`s worth

Here is the pdf on the dn pointing angles according to zip code. Much more accurate as it is the manuel you get with your dish. Scroll down to the dish 500 zip codes in pdf file.
Sorry had to edit this thread I had the dish 500+ guide. This one is the correct zip code information for the Dish 500.
