Try a larger dish.

I used to get rain fade in medium rain storms until I tweaked the system for a higher quality and higher signal. I also made sure everything was really tight so the wind would not move the system too much. In really heavy rain storms, the fade will only last a minute or 2 at most.
Yes there is truth to the old bigger is netter in this case..:innocent:

They are both right, the satellites signal passes through water in the cloud and the rain that is falling so not only the rain drops but even just extreemly thick clouds full of water can both cause problems if the dish is misaligned or small.
A bigger dish will be better as it will give the LNB more reflected signal in both clear weather and therefore also reflect more signal in rain storms but it does little good to get a bigger dish if its not aligned properly to get the best signal possible so Efxonly is right in the importance to have the dish fine tuned to peak the signal.
Dish sizes that are advised on sites like 'satbeams.com' are generally 'recomended minimum sizes' and so it never hurts to go the next size larger.
