i have a friend of mine who wants to get rpt so he can watch soccer. now i don't know much about international programing. i know internationals are on 118.7 but i heard rtp moved to another sat. i have tried to search lyngsat and different forums but cant find out. i know you need a bigger dish to get it but could someone fill me in on what sat its on and if it is encrypted or is it free to air? thanks.

I think the channel your referring to is rtpi. It was on 101 but can be scanned in on Galaxy 19 at 97w with at least a 33" dish, I would recommend 36" and up. If by chance you have a motorised bud or a 6' solid, it can also be picked up on Intelsat 805 at 55.5w.
One more thing, there are many open Portuguese channels from 15-61w but a dish of at least 6' is required as they are all on c band except for one ku channel on Telstar 12 at 15w and, If I'm not mistaken a couple at Hispasat at 30w.

thanks . i will relay the info to my friend. i believe he has a 33" dish already mounted so it just has to be aimed properly and scanned. thanks again:)
