Remembering the 2,977 innocent victims who died on this date in 2001, and the almost 900 rescuers who have died of medical complications afterwords.

Rest in Peace.

I have purposely left out of the count those that caused it.

Always in our memories, never forgotten those innocent victims of that tragic day and all our prayers for the families that have lost loved ones.

[I]It was a day I will never forget, when tragedy struck I was in London England at Heathrow Airport trying to get home to Canada, I have never seen British policemen baring arms, I did that day, and it was scary..eventually we left London, and the flight home was full of concern.............my thoughts and prayers goes to the innocent victims, and those who fought to save as many people as they could.....to me this was the most cowardly thing that was done, not just to the USA. but to the civilised world......and like our veterans of yesteryear, may we never forget..............:lest we forget"I]

The lives of those lost will always be rememered. We may have never knew them, or even thought twice about them if we passed them on the street. But no we morn those we lost as they were close to us. They will always be missed by those they will never know

I dedicate this poem to those who gave their lives, so we may have Freedom. May they rest in everlasting peace

A Mothers Son
A Tribute To Our Fallen Heroes.

I ALWAYS WANTED TO BE A SOLDIER, JUST LIKE MY DAD
THAT’S WHAT HIS MUM SAID, ABOUT HER BONNIE WEE LAD
THE YEARS WENT BY, HE GREW UP STRONG
AND STILL IN THE ARMY IS WHERE JAMIE LONGED

THE DAY CAME WHEN JAMIE SAILED AWAY
HIS MUM ON THE SHORE, PRAYING HE’D RETURN ONE DAY
AND JAMIE WROTE TO HIS DARLING MUM
HELLO MUM, THIS IS JAMIE, YOUR LOVING SON

THE GUNS ARE LOUD, AND THE CANONS ARE SCREAMING
AND COMING HOME IS WHAT I AM DREAMING
I CAN HEAR THE PIPES, I CAN HEAR THEM PLAYING
WERE COMING HOME THEY SEEM TO BE SAYING

THE PIPES THEY PLAYED FOR A SOLDIERS SON
WHO FOUGHT THE BATTLE, AND FOUGHT AND WON
AND JAMIE’S MUM AT THE STATION WAS WAITING
A PAIN IN HER HEART, THE TENSION WAS CREATING

THE CROWD THAT GATHERED TO SEE THEIR VILLAGE SON
AND ALL WAS THERE FOR JAMIE’S MUM
THE PIPES ARE PLAYING THE BATTLES O’ER
AS THE TRAINED PULLED IN, THEY OPENED THE CARRIAGE DOOR

THE FLAG DRAPED COFFIN, WAS CARRIED SHOULDER HIGH
AS THE RIFLES FIRED, INTO A CLOUDLESS SKY
JAMIE’S HOME, HE WAS ONE OF THE BEST
THE PIPES ARE PLAYING, AS HE IS LAID TO REST

A SOLDIER HE WAS, FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE
FOR HIS COUNTRIES FREEDOM, HIS LIFE HE GAVE
JAMIE’S HOME, HE WAS ONE OF THE BEST
THE PIPES ARE PLAYING, AS JAMIE IS LAID TO REST
