i have the sonic view hd8000 but every time i turn it on, i all-way have to go to menu then build in turner. I wonder do they have any box is easy to use? cuz i want to buy one for my dad but he's kinda old, his memory is not that good anymore. i only use it for 97W, so any box suggestion it's would help .

thanks

Most any fta receiver will bring in that sat. I would suggest an old coolsat, you can probably find one on fleabay for a few bucks.

I have to agree with bluesman that just about any stb will scan in Galaxy 19 at 97w. Your best bet for true fta would be a coolsat, pansat, fortec or traxis stb.

I have several receivers for True Free to Air ,Pansat ,Nfusion, Ariza ,Coolsat ,Viewsat and Fortec Clasic NA . I prefer the Fortec for True Free TO air.It is not as complicated as the others to operate .I get sats on most any frequency I enter I am on TUFF and RTV and getting Cristal clear reception as I do from 97 w .

I'll say no less then 39"................invacom LNB and a motor.

My dad is 78 going on 79 I bought him a Coolsat 7100, a 36" dish & motor from Sadoun. He loves RTV on 83 & the History channel on 101.

Last I looked Galaxy Marketing had some great deals on FTA dishes & motors. I know you did not mention a motor, but I thought I would add that in for your consideration.

Why just 97 ?

I've been scanning the poop out of my pansat 3500, 2500 and coolsat 6000, 5000 lately with my 10' and 6' solid. User friendly the coolsat stb are the best. For blind scanning nothing tops the pansat 3500, all the other 3 stb miss tp that the 3500 always pulls in.
Furthermore, for all ku fta sats I would suggest a 48" motorised dish, lots of channels but the sats are scattered.

Only if your planning to use your vs ultra for iks, for true fta it does an adequate job. I use my vs ultra outside to skew my lnb as its signal quality is usually lower then other stb. In other words, 80% signal quality on a vs ultra is 99% on my other true fta stb.
