Many observers thought the Bridgestone Invitational would be the site of Tiger Woods' long-anticipated turnaround.

Instead, it bore witness to Woods' worst showing as a professional.
Woods finished up his disastrous four rounds at Firestone Country Club Sunday with a 77, leaving him 18-over for the tournament. Woods didn't break 70 once during the touranment; his "best" round of the week was a 2-over 72 on Friday.
In the process, Woods set a handful of career worsts for his professional career.
-- Woods will finish tied for 78th at the Bridgestone. His previous worst finish in a tournament in which he played 72 holes was a tie for 60th at the 1996 Greater Milwaukee Open.
-- Sunday's 77 matched Woods' worst final round of his career; he also shot a 77 to close out the 1998 Bay Hill Invitational.
-- Woods' 18-over was six shots worse (relative to par) than his previous worst finish -- a +12 at the 2003 PGA Championship.
-- And it was only the fourth time in his career that Woods failed to shoot par at least once while playing four rounds of golf. The last time was almost seven years ago at the 2003 PGA Championship.
Making matters worse, this performance came at a tournament where Woods was the defending champion and on a course where he has won seven times in his storied career.
