it will fit on a dp500+ not a regular dp500.

If you have a dp500+, you would not need the repoint kit as you would already have the correct LNBs. It will fit on to a dp500 dish, however the dish may be too small depending on your location. The repoint kit was designed to retro-fit the SuperDish105 and SuperDish121.

Are you saying the bolts will line up? I have a Dp500+ and the lnb will not fit unless you make adjustments. Im not sure why you would need a repoint kit if you have a dp500+ maybe some more Clarification on the O.p's would help. Maybe he worded it worng...Im going by what he posted.

A dish 500 is a bit too small for good reception on 118.8W in some areas; the prime footprint for this bird is the Mid-Atlantic States out to the Mississippi river and at least a 21” dish is called for, so an 18” Dish 500 may work but it would have signal problems during foul weather.

The Dish 500+ is setup for 110W, 118.8W and 119W, (with a bigger pan) you can add the third LNB for 129W (makes it a Dish 1000+) as the signal on Ciel2 is much stronger then its predecessor.

Dish used many different arms on different Dishes over the years so some may need a bit of tooling to work with this kit, others may not.

A dish 1000.2 vs a Dish 500 is an example, you cant take the LNB holder off a Dish 500 and use it on a Dish 1000.2 it won’t fit without mods to the 1000 arm, however the 1000 pan will fit the 500’s mounting bracket, I do this for a better signal on 119/110.

And as Will has stated this kit will convert the Super Dish 105/121 into a Dish 500+ or a Dish 1000+ as the pan used on those two dishes is bigger then a dish 500.

With modifications it will fit (not worth the effort), but you will not get all the tp's to scan on 118.
Dish size is too small.

The repoint kit will require a little modifying to fit on a regular dish 500. The repoint kit has two holes. You would have to drill two holes to secure the lnb bracket properly. The dish 500 has one hole and normally holds a single lnb or the dual lnb. Not worth the effort, like everyone said; the dish 500 wouldn't get you a really high signal since its a small dish.
